What are price groups and how do I use them?

Make it easy for your clients to find the right membership or class pass to use your offerings.

Price Groups are a feature in YOGO that let you organize your prices and adjust the pricing for your studio so that it perfectly fits your needs.

Your clients purchase memberships, class passes, or time-based access cards from you. Price groups help them get an overview of all the options and choose the right one for themselves.

You are free to decide how to structure your offerings — i.e., your prices. For example, you can create the price groups “Memberships” and “Class Passes.” Or you can sort them by “Fall Courses,” “Winter Courses,” “Summer Courses” if you offer class series. Or you can sort by “Single Tickets,” “5-Class Pass,” “10-Class Pass,” and “Memberships.” You can also create “Adult Yoga” and “Kids Yoga,” or “Yoga,” “Pilates,” “EMS,” “Fitness” as price groups.

💡 Tip: Try to put yourself in your clients’ shoes. How can they best see at a glance which memberships and passes they can use to book a particular offering with you? 💡

How to create a price group:

  • Log in to YOGO Admin.

  • Click on “Prices” in the menu. An additional submenu item “Price Groups” will appear. Click on it. If it doesn’t appear, click the small arrow visible next to the “Prices” menu item.

  • Create a new price group: Click the blue plus symbol in the upper right corner to add a new price group.

  • Name your price group: Give your price group a name, e.g., “Adult Yoga,” “10-Class Pass,” or another category that fits your needs.

  • Show in the standard price list: If this checkbox is selected, the price group will be visible to your clients and selectable in the filterable list. By default, this checkbox is activated. (More on when to uncheck this below.)

  • Save the price group: Click “Create Price Group” to save your new price group.

Sorting Price Groups

In your price group overview in YOGO Admin, under the heading “Order” you will see three lines next to each price group. Click and drag the price group up or down. The top price group is the overview that is shown first when your clients click “Prices” in their profile or on your website. All others appear in the dropdown filter menu in the order in which they are listed in YOGO Admin.

Editing and Deleting Price Groups:

  • Edit: To edit an existing price group, click on it and make the desired changes.

  • Delete: To delete a price group, click on it and then click “Delete.”

💡 Tips & Tricks

When should I not show a price group in my standard list?
The option to make price groups invisible to clients can be useful in some cases. For example:

  • You offer class series that run for two or three months and organize prices by season. You can temporarily disable the “Spring Courses” group at the end of spring until you plan your next spring offering.

  • You have a “Special Promotions” price group, but currently aren’t offering any promotions.

  • You want to use invisible price groups for internal structuring.

How do I change which price group my clients see first?
The price group that appears at the top of your overview in YOGO Admin is the “homepage” for your prices. All others appear in the dropdown filter menu in the order they are listed in YOGO Admin. Drag the price group you want your clients to see first to the very top.

Can my prices appear in multiple price groups?
Yes, you can assign individual prices (i.e., memberships, class passes, time-based passes) to as many price groups as you want. This is useful if, for example, you offer a membership that is only valid for Pilates classes. You could create both a “Memberships” group and a “Pilates Classes” group, making it easier for clients to find the right option.

If you want all prices to be shown in your starting overview, but still keep the list filterable, you can create a price group called “All Prices” or “Complete Offering” and place it at the top. Then, assign all your prices to this group and also to one or more other relevant price groups.

Implementing Custom Price Displays with Price Groups

If you want to display only a specific price on a subpage of your website, you can do the following:

  1. Create a dedicated price group for this price.

  2. Assign the desired price to this group.

  3. Use the following code to display the price:

<div class="yogo-prices" data-prices-group="Name of Price Group"></div>

Do I have to use price groups?

If you only have a small offering, you can skip price groups. Your memberships, class passes, and time-based passes will then simply all be shown together.

Good to know:

  • If you have no price groups, all your prices are displayed in one list.

  • If you have at least one price group, only the prices assigned to a group are shown. All others remain invisible.

Troubleshooting

My price isn’t showing online. Why?
Most likely you created one or more price groups, but this price hasn’t been assigned to any of them. In YOGO Admin, go to “Prices”, find the price, click on it, and make sure a price group is selected.

I want fewer price groups overall.
If you want to reduce the total number of price groups, you can reassign your prices into new groups. Then delete the groups with no prices assigned by clicking on the empty group in YOGO Admin.

Assignments are managed directly on the prices, i.e., under “Prices” in YOGO Admin by clicking on the membership or access pass whose group assignment you want to edit. For class series, you edit the assignment directly under “Class Series” by clicking on the block in question.

You can change the price group assignments of your memberships, class passes, time-based passes, and class series at any time. If a price is shown in multiple price groups, you can, for example, remove it from all but one, add new ones, or replace one group with another.
