YOGO API and AI Assistants

YOGO offers an API and an MCP server, allowing you to connect AI assistants like Claude or ChatGPT to your YOGO data and ask questions about your customers, bookings and classes in plain language

What is the YOGO API?

The YOGO API and our MCP server let you give an AI assistant such as Claude or ChatGPT access to your data in YOGO. You ask your questions in plain language, and the AI assistant finds the relevant data on its own.

For example:

  • "Which members haven't booked a class in the last 60 days?"
  • "Which classes had the highest attendance in the last three months?"
  • "Show me customers with an active membership who didn't book a class last month."

If you want to build your own integrations, for example with your CRM or staff scheduling tool, you can use the REST API directly. More on that below .

How do I get access?

The YOGO API is an add-on for the Studio and Studio+App plans and costs extra. The MCP server for AI assistants is included.

  1. Contact us through YOGO’s customer support to let us know you'd like to activate the API access.
  2. We activate the add-on for your studio and will let you know.
  3. You'll then find everything you need for the setup in the YOGO admin under Settings > API Keys.

Connect an AI assistant in your browser (Claude or ChatGPT)

This is the easiest option. You don't need an API key or a configuration file. You simply sign in with your YOGO admin account.

  1. In the YOGO admin, go to Settings > API Keys.
  2. Under AI Assistants, copy the URL https://mcp.yogobooking.com/mcp using the copy icon.
  3. Open Claude or ChatGPT in your browser and add the URL as a custom connector.
  4. You'll be redirected to YOGO. Sign in with your YOGO admin account and confirm access.
  5. Done! The connected AI assistant now appears in YOGO under Settings > API Keys in the AI Assistants section.

Important: The AI assistant has the same permissions as the admin account you signed in with.

 

Connect with an API key (Claude Desktop, Claude Code, Gemini)

For Claude Desktop, Claude Code and Gemini, you use an API key. You can use the same key for the REST API.

  1. In the YOGO admin, go to Settings > API Keys.
  2. Click Create API Key (or the plus icon in the top right).
  3. Copy the key and store it somewhere safe, for example in a password manager.
  4. Enter the MCP URL https://mcp.yogobooking.com/mcp and your API key in your AI app. How to do this depends on the app. You'll find instructions in the API documentation.

Important: Treat your API key like a password. Don't share it by email or chat, and don't give it to anyone who shouldn't have access to your studio data.

 

REST API for your own integrations

With the REST API, you can connect YOGO to other systems, such as your CRM, staff scheduling tool or a BI tool. You need your API key and some technical know-how, or someone who builds the integration for you.

Please note: We provide the documentation and maintain the API continuously. However, we can't help with building the integration itself. If you have questions about how the API works, feel free to get in touch.

 

Manage and revoke access

You always stay in control of who can access your data.

  • Deactivate an API key: Under Settings > API Keys, you can deactivate any key at anytime. Apps using that key lose access immediately.
  • Disconnect an AI assistant: You can see connected AI assistants in the AI Assistants section. From there, you can revoke access without affecting your other integrations.
  • Track changes: Every change made through the API is logged, so you can see what was changed and when.

Tip: If someone who connected an AI assistant leaves your studio, revoke their access and create a new API key if needed.

 

Data protection: What you need to know

The YOGO API and the MCP server run in the EU (AWS Frankfurt). On YOGO's side, use is covered by your existing data processing agreement with us.

However, the AI service you connect is your own data processor. Data the AI assistant retrieves through the API is processed by that provider (usually in the US). This means:

  • Use a business account with a data processing agreement (DPA). For Claude, that's Team, Enterprise or API access. For ChatGPT, it's Business, Enterprise or API access. For Gemini, it's Google Workspace or Google Cloud.
  • Personal accounts aren't enough, not even paid ones like Claude Pro or ChatGPT Plus. Turning off training on your data is a good idea, but it doesn't replace a DPA.
  • Name the AI provider in your privacy policy.
  • Check the AI's answers before acting on anything important. The answers come from the AI service, not from YOGO, and may contain mistakes.
